No, we try to respect the size written in the rules.
Only once I played in other size (96 * 48), at the end of a campaign, for to celebrate it with a multiple combat in a special scenario. Unfortunately, it was a disaster, because somebody did a mistake and mixed the place of the deployment zones. The miniatures started in the 48 inches side. The result: my miniatures only ran and ran the 6 turns without arrive to the target, in the other side of 96 inches.
In general, I think to respect the size is important, because permit to arrive to the other side of the table and has in consideration things like the 36 inches of a rifle, for example.
